Most beginners are unable to sing a song and play the guitar at the same time when they start out. It is important that you listen carefully to the songs that you want to play. Try to listen to it for about two or three times. You can even memorize it if you want. Then you can practice playing the song very slowly. You can do it stanza by stanza and sing along as you practice strumming the guitar.

You don’t have to worry about anything. Not everybody gets it right the first time. You can expect to make mistakes during your first time. Take these mistakes as a learning curve. Learning how to play the guitar does not take just about 15 minutes. You have to put some time and effort in learning how to play the guitar.

It also takes some dedication to learn how to play this instrument. It is important that you are able to put your heart into the learning process. You might be disheartened with the fact that you don’t sound anything near nice during the first time. But that is to be expected. You have to work on improving this sound. You also may feel some discomfort of pain in the hands, arms and fingers during your first few days of learning. Don’t let this dissuade you as well. Practice your fingers more so soon enough, you won’t feel the pain of the pressure when you press on the strings of your guitar.

If you are learning on your own, grab some journals from the local bookstore. Check out online tutorials and articles that may be able to help you understand the technique a lot better. It can be pretty difficult to learn how to play the guitar on your own. And it takes a lot more dedication and focus to accomplish this feat.
